Nachtwanderung

As part of the project theme “New Vision,” the photographer developed a series focused on urban architecture at night.  The aim was to respond to social change through a personal lens — using black-and-white photography, strong contrasts, and unusual perspectives.  The images were taken in places the photographer regularly passes through — familiar routes seen in a new way. Lines, angles, and light were used intentionally to create a sense of visual rhythm. The title “Nachtwanderung“ refers not to a typical hike through nature, but to a quiet, reflective walk through the city at night.  A single person appears in several images, representing the wandering figure within the urban space. Horizontal images show this figure from an external perspective, while vertical frames reflect their inner view.  Together, the series tells a subtle story of a melancholic character who drifts through the night—attuned to details, moods, and shifting impressions.
